Who we Are

Humber wood Recycling Project is a self-funding social enterprise, formed in December 2013 with the aim of reducing wood waste, saving resources and to create training, volunteering and workplace opportunities for people within the local community, some of who may be considered disadvantaged or marginalised from the labour market.

Reclaiming  & Reusing

Reclaiming  & Reusing

Working partnership with the National Community Wood Recycling Project (NCWRP) (communitywoodrecycling.org.uk) our core business focuses upon reclaiming and re-using wood waste, predominately generated by the construction industry, therefore reducing the amount of wood that is needlessly sent to landfill.

Nothing is ever sent to landfill!

Once reclaimed the wood is sorted and graded by our volunteers back at our depot. Some of it is offered back for sale to the community at highly competitive prices, while some is used to make products by our team and volunteers the rest is used to make firewood and kindling. What we cannot use or recycle within our depot is sent for processing off-site and turned into biomass fuel chips. Nothing is ever sent to landfill!
