Frequently Asked Questions
About our Wood Store, Workshop and Collections….
Q: What are your opening hours?
A: We are open 08:00 - 16:00 Monday to Saturday and
10:00 - 16:00 on Sunday.
Q: Can I reserve timber?
A: Yes, if it is paid for in full. Once paid for, we can store
reserved items for two weeks.
Q: Do you have pallets?
A: Yes. We generally keep a good stock of mixed quality pallets, large and small. They start from as little as 50p depending on size and quality.
Q: Can I bring my waste timber to you?
A: No. We are a registered waste carrier service, not a transfer site like the council's recycling centre. Everything we handle must be brought in on the back of one of our trucks. We sometimes make exceptions and will accept a drop-off of good quality wooden furniture but this is at the site manager's discretion. Call and talk to us if you have something to donate.
Q: Do you provide a fitting service?
A: No. All our products are made in our Workshop to customer specifications which we can deliver but not install.
Q: Do you collect pallets?
A: Yes. We will collect as many pallets as we can squeeze into our 16 cubic yard caged vans. Prices are dependent on location and quantities (please contact us for further details).
Q: Do you collect any timber?
A: Yes, we collect any timber including chipboard, MDF and building site timber waste. However, all timber waste must be separated from any other waste. i.e. not mixed in with general, contaminated or hazardous waste. We cannot retrieve waste timber from skips.
Q: Can I drop waste at your site?
A: No. We are a registered waste carrier, not a transfer site like the council's recycling centre. Everything we handle must be brought in on the back of one of our trucks. We sometimes make exceptions and accept drop-off of good quality wooden furniture but this is at the site manager's discretion. Call and talk to us if you have something to donate.
Q: Do you sell reclaimed scaffold boards?
A: Yes. We try and keep a good supply on site (quantities do fluctuate).
These are mostly offcut lengths at a fixed price per metre.
Q: What are the dimensions of a scaffold board?
A: Approximate measurements: Length 390cm x Width 22cm x Thickness 3.6cm. We are able to join boards to achieve a greater width.
Q: Do you provide a cutting service?
A: Yes, dependent on staff availability and the dimensions involved. Generally cutting orders can be completed by (or before) the following afternoon.
Straightforward cutting jobs are charged at between £0.50p and £1.00 per cut (or per metre when ripping, ask for details).
Q: Do you cut sheet materials?
A: Yes, we can cut ply and OSB in our workshop. Pricing is dependent on the material available and the spec required. We do not cut MDF/chipboard/certain laminated boards as they release carcinogenic particles upon cutting.
Q: Do you deliver pallets?
A: Yes. Give us call and tell us what you're using them for and we'll find something suitable. We can get a van load to you for as little as £15 (dependant on location).
Q: How quickly can you make a collection?
A: We aim to get to you within 48 hours of collection confirmation. Our days are flexible and, depending on where in our area you are, could get there sooner.
Q: Do you make free collections?
A: No. We only offer a chargeable collection service which is highly competitive with other types of waste wood collection. See our Collections page for more information.
